Antonio Gibson said in a recently released interview that he wants to line up more at WR in 2023, stating “I haven’t shown my position.” Gibson converted to running back after playing wide receiver in college, and his open-field ability makes him a valuable weapon in the new-look Washington offense.
Fantasy Impact: Gibson is behind second-year running back Brian Robinson for first and second-down work, but profiles as the primary pass catcher of the two. If the Commanders do start using him more as a wideout, he could come in over Curtis Samuel in three WR sets, or be their fourth WR. Either way, while Robinson has seemingly cemented his place as the hammer of the offense, Gibson will hope to contribute in the open field where he is more comfortable playing.
