WR DK Metcalf is expected to play in Week 8 against the New York Giants despite being carted off with a patella tendon injury last week, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact: As Schefter mentions in his report, most suspected that Metcalf would miss multiple games. Seattle has their bye in Week 11, and some speculated that the young WR could be sidelined until after that break. If he is indeed active, the concern for fantasy managers is that he is either limited or aggravates the injury during the game. Unfortunately, the Seahawks and Giants have a late kickoff on Sunday, so fantasy managers will probably have to make the call to start or sit Metcalf prior to having an official word on his status. If you have other viable options at WR or flex, it’s probably best to lean in that direction. If you are desperate, Metcalf is a roll of the dice with obvious upside assuming he is healthy enough to handle his usual workload.
