James Robinson will not play in Saturday’s preseason game against Pittsburgh but is expected to be ready for Jacksonville’s Week 1 matchup against the Commanders according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.
Fantasy Impact: James Robinson has reportedly recently begun participating in team drills and making open field cuts with ease. His return from his Achilles injury is right on track with the original timeline of mid-August. Head coach Doug Pederson said Thursday that the “hope and expectation” is that he will play in Week 1. Fantasy managers should have patience with the running back as he comes off a serious injury but have to be pleased with his progress. He will also be competing for time with Travis Etienne, Jr. for playing time so temper expectations if they are based off his numbers pre-injury last season.
