Jonnu Smith to reportedly signs with the Patriots on a 4-year deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that the Patriots are reportedly signing free-agent TE Jonnu Smith to a 4-year, $50M contract.

Fantasy Impact: This is a great landing for Smith from a fantasy standpoint. The Patriots have one of the weakest WR cores in the league, and Smith’s athleticism makes him a matchup nightmare. The recently re-signed Cam Newton has shown a tendency to favor the TE in the past (Greg Olsen), and at this time, Smith is the number one option on that offense. He should be locked in as a TE1 for the 2021 season. The deal reportedly will include $31.25M fully guaranteed.
