According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, rookie RB Roschon Johnson has continued to see work with the Bears’ first team in practice, impressing as a pass blocker.
Fantasy Impact: In the first week of preseason, RB Khalil Herbert was the exclusive back to operate with the first team, though they didn’t play many snaps as a result of a pair of long touchdowns. Johnson didn’t play until later in the game, and while his numbers weren’t eye-popping, his hard-nosed running style was evident and promising. There’s plenty of public optimism that Johnson could assert himself into the lineup early in his career as a third-down back due to his ability as a blocker and pass catcher, and some think he can parlay it into a full-time role. Regardless, he’s seeing increased work in practice after his preseason debut performance and an eye should be kept out for his role in the offense in the second preseason game to see when he plays.
