Garett Thomas walks you through his thinking behind his Week 3 cash game lineup and offers lessons learned.

I cashed my Week 3 DU. This lineup had a 20.81% ROI on 164 entries across Double ups, H2H’s, and 3-mans.
Looking at this lineup, what did we do right? We took the Value ALL over this slate — Alexander Mattison, Saquon Barkley, and Mike Williams were all locks this week. Williams was the biggest place I differentiated myself from the field without adding risk. In fact, I’m still shocked he was only 34% owned in my double-up, he’s a red-zone target machine this season.
The biggest decision in cash games this past week was to play the Derrick Henry chalk or fade it. I chose to fade it and play Austin Ekeler for much cheaper and that decision put me in a position to grab Cooper Kupp and Tyreek Hill, though the latter player failed.
What would have certainly failed me was playing Henry — despite him having a respectable cash-game finish. My other lineup builds with Henry led to players like Rondale Moore and Sterling Shepherd, both of who had poor fantasy showings. Thus, Henry was too expensive this week against IND.
What would have improved this lineup? Swapping out Hock/Hill/BUF for Waller/Metcalf/ARI, which would have increased my total score by 31.88-FD points.
Me not eating the D.K. Metcalf chalk kept me from crushing this week, but Metcalf always feels risky in cash games on FanDuel. Metcalf was noticeably mispriced, though, so I get why managers went there.
